The Ministry of Health launches the "Digitally Safe Healthy Community" program.

The Ministry of Health and Population has launched the “Digitally Safe Healthy Community” training program for its employees, under the patronage of Minister Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and in collaboration with mideast communication systems (MCS). The program aims to enhance “digital prevention” concepts among ministry staff, raise awareness of security threats, and reduce the risks of cyberattacks to minimize financial, informational, and security losses, supporting the country’s digital transformation strategy.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the ministry’s spokesperson, emphasized that the program focuses on increasing awareness of cybersecurity threats and preventive measures. Dr. Ashraf Abdel Aleem, Assistant Minister for IT, outlined the ministry’s steps towards digital transformation, including training new staff, preparing the ministry’s new headquarters, and implementing automation in primary care units and hospitals.

Tarek Shabaka, CEO at MCS, stated that the program aims to provide competitive advantages to the health sector by training 1,000 non-specialist employees on safe use of modern technology and digital communication. The program will also include sessions for leaders of health institutions and a comprehensive training program for IT and cybersecurity professionals.

Dr. Ahmed Abdel Hafiz, Deputy Head of the Supreme Cybersecurity Council, highlighted the importance of cybersecurity awareness, noting that 90% of issues stem from user errors. The launch event was attended by ministry officials, representatives of general and central departments, and global cybersecurity experts.
